It would involve setting up the javascript to control a “selected” class and using that class when you’ve moused-out of the navigation area. You would probably want to use the .mouseout() or .mouseleave() methods within jQuery to achieve this.

One thing I noticed is that the hover state stays on the last item hovered, and does not go back to the current page item. Is there a way to modify your tutorial so that when the user is no longer hovering over other pages on the navigation, it would return to the current page and display that page’s submenu?
